Events:

* All 13 MSHSL events.

* Extemp will be split Domestic & International - students cannot compete in both due to schedue constraints.

* Impromptu (AFA format - see Files section for full instructions).

* POI (NSDA format).

* Judges should provide speakers a 30 second grace period.

Double & Triple-entering:

* Students in draw events (ER, IX, ST, & USX) and Discussion can be registered in one non-draw event as well but not two due to schedule constraints.

* Students can register in three non-draw events.

* Impromptu is not considered a draw event since it is an in-room draw event with a running clock.

Discussion:

* Discussion tasks will be released at the table.

* Tasks will be drawn from the second section of the outline.

Round themes for Extemp Speaking will be in the live doc.

Tournament format:

* Four prelims and then all events will break to Finals & Honor Finals.

* Events with large entry pools may have additional final rounds to give additional students the opportunity to compete.

NIETOC Bids:

* All finalists in DI, Duo, HI, Info, IX, OO, POI, & USX likely will earn bids. Some in Honor Finals will too. And maybe even some others - we'll see where numbers end up.

* Entries in Prose are eligible to earn DI bids this year per NIETOC board decision for the 2019 season.

Waitlisting:

* Due to space constraints and our ambitious schedule, we have set caps on entries per event. Once an event reaches capacity, all additional entries will be put on waitlists.

* We'll monitor registration closely and make adjustments as needed to accept as many entries as possible off the waitlists.
