Hello Friends!

You are cordially invited to the 2024 Asynchronous Speech Championship! We know that some students simply cannot participate in national tournaments requiring multiple days of travel and competition. We know the physical demands and the inability to work during those times may make synchronous national competition impossible for some students. ASC exists for everyone to participate, but especially those students who want to see where they land on the national scale in a championship competition but who may not be able to travel or compete in synchronous ways. With a sustainable model and a focus on equity and inclusion, the ASC aims to provide students with a learning and competition space. For the past two years, over 550 entries from 35+ schools competed in each ASC tournament, and we look forward to a continuation of this type of robust competition again this year!

Highlights
-Competition will be fully asynchronous
-All 11 IE categories will be offered, with Octofinals, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Novice Finals, and Open Finals (as dictated by the total number of entries in each category)
-Content warnings are encouraged to give adequate warning to judges/competitors
-No late adds are allowed
-ASC will utilize an honor system for judges and competitors
-Tiered, equity-focused fee structure
-Additional fees for uncovered slots or dropped judges
-Payments accepted by Venmo, PayPal, or by check
-2024 Video submission date: March 20 @ noon CST
-Teams are responsible for providing working video links. Judges will be instructed to rank any nonworking links at the bottom of the round.
