Welcome back to Jefferson High School!!

Registration will only be accepted via SpeechWire. To ensure we have enough rooms and concessions, the deadline for registration is Friday, January 9th 2026. Please contact Addie Pokrifcak for any changes, including drops, after this deadline as soon as possible.

Teams may only bring 1 team at 40 entries and no non-sweep entries or second teams.

Contestants may triple in all events except Discussion. Contestants double at their own risk!

EVENTS: BR, DEC, DIS, DI, DUO, HI, IMP, INFO, IX, OO, OP, POE, POI, PR, USX

Specific event information is as follows:

* RADIO: (Official format prompt to be released in Files for Download by 4:00PM on Monday, January 13th 2025)

o Round 1 – 5 minute news program

o Round 2 - 2 minute contestant written editorial (question provided before the meet)

o Round 3- 5 minute news program

o Final- News Program Repeat with Editorial included (7 minute target time)

* DISCUSSION: Artifacts will be made available through the FILES FOR DOWNLOAD link on SpeechWire on or before 4:00PM on Monday, January 12th 2026.

* EXTEMP: If there are a small number of entries in the two extemp events, the events may be combined for more competition. At this time, we plan on having the competitors electronically draw before round 1 and round 3 (subject to change).

Teams must provide one judge for every five entries or fraction thereof. For example, if you have 12 entries, you will need three judges. Any school failing to bring their assigned number of judges per their registration will not be eligible to earn a team trophy.

There will be three rounds, and a final round in each event.

Lunch and other yummy concessions will be available from 7:00AM to awards. Please help support JEFForensics by purchasing our concessions! Everything will be reasonably priced (no more than $3 per item). CASH ONLY!!!!

Coaches, judges, and drivers can enjoy our hospitality lounge in the LGI (next to the Media Center).

Additionally, maps, wifi, and other pertinient school information will be posted in Files for Download.

Registration will begin at 7:15AM.

** NEW BUS ROUTE IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN HERE IN A COUPLE YEARS **Buses must drop students off at the entrance off of 22nd street at the athetic entrance (door #12). This is the back of the school! You'll know you're in the right parking lot if you can see a football stadium. Buses may park in the athletic lot off of 22nd street. All judges and coaches can park in the athletic lot by door #12 as well -- the lot is humongous. If you would like more information on directions to Jefferson High School, please let me know.
