The Doane University Forensics Team would like to invite you to our tournament on Saturday, January 6th on the Doane University Campus in Crete, Nebraska.

 

The deadline for entries is Monday, January 1st at 5:00pm CST.

We understand that coaches may not know their exact entries by this deadline. What we need you to do by January 1st is 1) indicate that your team will be attending and 2) add entries based on your closest approximation on the number of students and events your team will bring. Registration will remain open for changes until Thursday, January 4th. Any changes after Thursday, January 4th, should be emailed to the tournament directors.

 

While we strive to create an accessible tournament experience, please do not hesitate to inform us of any accommodations that you, your judges, or your students may need. Additionally, please notify us of any severe food allergies.

 

 

Awards:

At the Doane Forensic, each event champion will receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend Doane University as a member of the Doane Forensics team. This offer is stackable up to 3 times. So, a student who wins 3 events at The Doane Forensic this year (last year or in subsequent years) can receive up to $6,000 in scholarships.

Individual trophies will be awarded to all finalists. We will award the top novice in each event. Please identify your novices on your entry. A novice is any student who has not competed in high school speech prior to August of 2023. In group events, all members must be novices for the team to be recognized as novice. Team trophies will be presented to the top three teams.

Events Guidelines:

We will be using NSAA guidelines for the Nebraska events. Full descriptions can be found at www.nsaahome.org. The remaining 3 events will follow NSDA guidelines, which can be found at https://www.speechanddebate.org/competition-events/

Hospitality:

It is important to us that your competitors and judges are offered adequate sustenance. Therefore, we will offer a $5.00 per person lunch option for the Doane Cafeteria Brunch Buffet. When you register on Speechwire, please add the number of lunch tickets your students would like to preorder.
*Note: On speechwire, you must manually add the number of meal tickets on the "Update Your Meal Order" page, in the "number to order" section and then click the 'save meal order'. That total will be added to your entry fees to be paid at registration. 

All judges will be provided lunch.
