Dear colleagues, 

You are invited to the SMART Afterschool Novice Tournament on Tuesday, October 24th at Rocky Mountain Prep - SMART. Our hope is that a novice tournament in the middle of the week helps you engage a different group of students in your classes and programs! We look forward to hosting you all. 

Events: HI, DI, Duo, POE, POI, USX, IX, OO, INF, LD, PF, CX, Congress 

Schedule: We are hoping to run three rounds of competition, with awards happening virtually and sent out later that night. The hope is that it allows you to celebrate novices with your entire team at school and allows students to leave before 8pm. 

3:45-4pm: Registration

4:15: Round 1 Congress: 4:30-7:00

5:15: Round 2

6:15: Round 3

Logistics: We will get Extemp draw started as soon as possible. Debate will be randomly matched all three rounds to speed up turnaround time.  

Doubling: For the most part we don’t recommend it for novice tournaments but it's your call.  

Internet: Internet will be available to everyone!  

Fees: $7 per entry (including CX, PF, and Duo). A concession stand will run throughout the day. 

Judging: Please bring as many varsity student judges as you can! Extra judges will be put into sections to provide as much feedback to novices as possible. If judges are a struggle just email me and we can get you set up.
