Classic Debate Camp is excited to welcome you and your students to participate in a fun-filled and educationally productive day of speech and debate competition! Highlights of our 2021 tournament:

We are offering all speech events this year as well as Congressional Debate, Big Questions Debate, Policy Debate, Lincoln-Douglas, and Public Forum.
Students will be able to earn OSDA BIDS in their events as long as there is the required number of competitors.
In LD, PF, Policy, and BQD, there will be JUDGE DISCLOSURES AND ORAL CRITIQUES after every round. The tournament will also post results after every round.
At the conclusion of the third session of Congressional Debate and the fourth round of speech, judges in those events will also be encouraged to give feedback to competitors.
In IX and USX, our plan is to have cross-examination in every round.
We will host competition using Zoom as our platform for synchronous competition in all our events - no NSDA campus.
We will provide a virtual Equity Office in case any DEIJ issues or concerns arise. We also request that all judges complete anti-bias training before the tournament (see below).

The CDC 2021 tournament will kick-off on Saturday morning, December 11, with the registration between 7:45-8:30 a.m. Eastern. Round 1 is scheduled to begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.. Please refer to Speechwire for information about the approximate start times for the remaining rounds. LD, PF, BQD, and Speech will all have 4 rounds of competition. Congressional Debate will have 3 sessions. And Policy Debate will have 3 rounds. Awards are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Teams will be initially limited to 6 entries in each event, but more entries may be accepted later if space permits. Please place additional entries on the Speechwire waitlist.

Tournament debate topics will be the NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2021 NSDA designated topics.

Teams are expected to provide judges for the tournament: 1 judge for every 2 entries in LD/PF/Policy/BQD debate. 1 judge for every 5 Speech entries or fraction thereof. 1 judge for every 10 Congressional Debaters. We may have access to a limited number of judges for hire at a rate of $60 per day. Please communicate with tournament directors asap to request hired judges.
