Dear Speech People:

 

Our tournament will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020.  Lac Qui Parle Valley High School and Dawson-Boyd High School speech teams are excited to invite you to the LQPV-DBHS Forensics Fledglings Tournament to be held at Dawson-Boyd High School!   All Jr. High (7-9th grade) students are welcome, as well as any upperclassmen new to speech this season.

 

There will be NO hired judges available.  Please make sure to bring one judge per each 6 entries.  Veteran upperclassmen from your varsity team may be used for judges at your discretion.  Please, no double entries.  There will be 2 prelim rounds and no finals.

 

We will be closing registration at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 2.  Please text or email drops to Karen @ 320-297-0122 or karena@dwby.k12.mn.us after that time.

Registration must be received by Monday, March 2 at 4:00 pm. We will charge $7.00 per entry. Changes may be made without penalty through Monday, March 2 @ 4:00 PM. Drops will be charged after this date/time. Please provide a judge for every 6 entries registered or fraction thereof

 

Our students dismiss at 3:12, so please have speakers congregate in the commons until draws.  Please have buses drop off students on the west side of the high school by our auditorium/commons entry.  It is the entry just before the street curves.  Buses should then drive around the school and come back to the south side and park in our community center/gym parking lot.

 

Speaker fees are $7 per student entry ($14 for duo).  No double entries.

 

Draw categories: students should choose 2 topics or cuttings ahead of time.

 

We will have Subway sub sandwich, chips, pop or water meal deal for $6.00 available for purchase in addition to other concession stand items.
