On Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, Kenston Middle School will offer all OSDA middle school events plus middle school extemp in Bainbridge Township, Ohio (which is next to Solon and Chagrin Falls).  We will be at Kenston Middle School for this tournament (not the high school).  We will offer unlimited entries in MS Big Questions Debate and Congressional Debate.  If you have more than five entries in any other event, please enter them on the wait list, and they will be admitted depending on room.  Speech double entries are permitted.    Registration will be held from 7:45-8:15am.  Policy debate will begin at 8:30am.  Cut-off for drops is Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 5pm.  You are responsible for paying the entry fee for any drops after this deadline. Please make checks payable to Kenston Board of Education.  $4 per student for each event in which they are entered.

Congress results will be based on judge's preference.  Middle School Congress will use the following five pieces of legislation from the OSDA Middle School docket:  2, 3, 6, 7, 9.   MS PF will use the Ohio middle school January/February topic.  We are currently planning to hold four rounds of debate (except for three rounds in policy).

Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each event.  Ribbons will be awarded to fourth-sixth place.

Judge requirements: 1 judge for every 1-5 speech, 1-8 congress, and 1-2 for each type of debate.  If you don't enter enough judges, your entries will be dropped.  Please enter email addresses for your judges because we will be using electronic ballots.

A variety of lunch options will be offered to students.  Please bring small bills.  Please do not bring your own food because this tournament is our major fundraiser.

The purpose for holding this tournament is that in past years, there has been a month gap between Rhodes and Middle School States.  This will give the middle schoolers a chance to stay fresh and prepare for Middle School States.
