We are pleased to invite your team to the STMA Knights Invitational on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

 

Date:           Saturday, February 8, 2020

 

Events:         All MSHSL events, Impromptu Speaking, and Program Oral Interpretation.

 

Discussion:  Tasks will be distributed in-round and will come from Section I: Top-Down Issues. Discussion will be offset on the schedule to allow for double entry. In the final round (only!) of Discussion, we will be piloting a 10-minute prep/research period after the task is read and before the round begins. After the task is read by a room manager in the final round, competitors will have ten minutes to research using the internet before the round officially starts. 

 

Draws: Extemp Reading Prose passages will come from parts one, three, and five. Extemp Reading Poetry passages will come from poems 1-40. Stories 1-10 will be used for Storytelling draws. 

 

Fees:           $7.00 per entry (Duo is per pair). Participants may double enter, but we request no triple entries.

 

Judges:     One per 6 entries or fraction thereof. Preference of events is available during registration.

 

Registration: We will have registration open up until we reach 720 entries. Please register as soon as possible to ensure attendance. Once we reach our cap, I will try to accommodate adds as drops come in, but I can't guarantee entry. 

                Please register both competitors and judges on Speechwire.com no later than Friday, February 7th, at 3:30 pm. Drops after this date 

                will not lower your registration fee. Day of drops can be done on your smartphone prior to arrival if possible. Adds may be possible the day of the tournament depending on numbers.

 

Concessions:     There will be food available in the upper and lower concession stand near the cafeteria. 

 

Schedule:   Times are approximate and subject to change as the day goes on. We will be using eCritiques and eBallots! We will be site scheduling.
