Greetings Coaches! 

 

The Perham High School Speech Team is excited to host their second annual Perham Junior Jacket Classic! 

 

January 27, 2020. 

 

We understand that this tournament may be early in the season for some of our more novice speakers, which is the reason why we wanted to host a special meet just for those newcomers. We want your newest and youngest speakers to have an authentic tournament that feels more like a really strong practice session. 

 

Please make note of the following items:

 

Registration will begin at 3:30 PM by the main entrance (Door 1). We will have school until 3:15 PM, so please do not enter the building until 3:30 PM to avoid congestion. School buses are able to drop-off at Door 1, Door 2, or Door 3 and can park in the staff lot. Competitors should make their way to the Great Hall where they can place their belongings and visit the concession stand. 

 

All draw events should come prepared first round. 

 

All speakers, except discussants, will begin at 4:00 PM. Discussion will begin at 4:15 PM to allow for double-entries. 

Please provide one judge for every 6 contestants or a fraction thereof. We may have extra judges available for $80 per judge. You must register for judges by Friday, January 24, 2020.  

Each entry will be $3.00. Entries added after January 24 will be charged an additional $1.00 fee. There are no limits per entry, however, please no triple-entries for competitors in Discussion or Draw Categories. 

Concessions will be available all evening. Please let your speakers know that we have an excellent selection in our new concession stand. 

 

Judges and coaches will have pizza and beverages available in their lounge. 

 

We will award the top 6 competitors with medals and the contestants close to breaking will receive superior ribbons. All other speakers will be recognized in some way for speaking.
