Dear Coach,
 
Your team is invited to attend the 30th Annual Freehold Township High School Forensics Tournament on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Check in for all teams will take place from 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM. There will be a mandatory judge meeting at 8:45 AM. We plan on beginning round 1 promptly at 9:00 AM and have awards tentatively scheduled to being at 5:30 PM.

Registration Opens: 17 November 2019 at 4:00 PM
New Entries Due: 9 January 2020 at 12:00 PM

FEES: You must present payment in the form of cash, check, or purchase order. Make checks payable to the FTHS Forensics.
 
School Registration Fee: $20.00 per school
Individual Event: $10.00 per slot
DUO Interpretation: $15.00 per slot
Public Forum Debate:  $15.00 per slot
Lincoln- Douglas Debate:  $15.00 per slot
Congressional Debaters: $10.00 per slot
Hired Judges: $90.00 per judge
Late Add/Drop Fee: $15.00 per change
No-show judge fine: $25.00 per round
Dropped Judge: $25.00 per judge 
 
E-BALLOTS
We will be using e-ballots with Speechwire for both speech and debate.  We need you to ensure clear communication to your judges about this.  Please ask your judges to ensure that they bring a device on which they can complete their ballots, as well as any necessary equipment (i.e. chargers) and provide judges’ emails at registration.  We will also have paper ballots as backups if any judge needs one. 
 
THE EVENTS
All debate events will have four rounds with a possibility of a final if time permits. All speech events will have three rounds and a final except in events that exceed 40 students, in which there will also be a semi-final round. Congress will have an AM and a PM session. Top non-advancing novice awards will be given out in all speech events (except Declamation) and Congress. Awards will be given to the top six students/team in each event. Sweepstakes awards will be given out to the top three schools overall. Each school may enter up to six contestants per category. Double enters are allowed to participate except in debate events and congress.

Additional Information:
The cafeteria will be open for the purchase of food from local businesses, home cooked food, and other goods.
Judges & Head Coaches will receive free breakfast and lunch. Judges must sign-in to receive their ticket for free lunch. 
 
The tournament is being held at Freehold Township High School NOT Freehold High School. Note the address above. 
 
Novices are 9th or 10th grade students who are in their first year of forensics (regardless of event). 
Debate divisions will follow the NSDA guidelines.
