Debate Broward, in partnership with Chief Judge Jack Tuter of the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida, welcomes you to compete in a Congressional Debate Tournament in actual court rooms at the Broward County Courthouse!
The tournament will take place on Friday, December 6th from 9:00am - 1:30pm. Transportation and lunch will be provided.
There are no entry fees for this tournament, and each team may register up to 8 competitors. The tournament will be capped overall at 90 competitors, so sign up quickly because once the spots are full, registration will close!
There will be 1 round of preliminary competition, where competitors will debate "A Bill to Confiscate Weapons Belonging to a Person the State Determines is a Threat to Harm Themselves or Others" and "A Resolution to Amend the Constitution to Ensure Bipartisan Support for Presidential Impeachment and Removal".
The top 3 competitors from each chamber will then clear to a final round where they will debate "A Resolution to Encourage State Governments to Appoint their State Court Judges via the Governor’s Office Instead of Allowing for Direct Election by the People".
