The “Aquinas 4N6 Number 9” will take place on Saturday February 22nd, 2020.  The registration/adds deadline will be 6:15p.m. on Wednesday February 19th, 2019.   Entry drops may be submitted any time before 7 a.m. on the 22nd.  Judge Drops must be submitted by Thursday Feb. 20th at 9:00p.m., to avoid drop fees. Judge drops after this time will be assessed a $15.00 fee.

Competition: All events will have 2 preliminary rounds and finals. Last year we experimented with 3 judges in prelims, and things ran relatively well. We will offer that again, providing that we have enough judges.

Round Opportunities:

1) Last year we did have enough judges to add a second judge to one round in each flight.

 2) If we are able to have that number of judges again I will add a second judge to Flight A Round 2 and Flight B Round 1.

3) I will still make an effort to use hired judges before coaches.

4) 2 Judges per finals round.

We only have Varsity Divisions. Feel free to enter JV competitors as Varsity, but we will not separate JV into their own division.

Events: We will be offering all 9 NSAA State Competition events and Impromptu for the truly truly brave. Did I mention only the brave should do impromptu?  The top 6 competitors will move on to finals.  Medals will be awarded to Varsity competitors in the 9 NSAA events. All O.I.D. and Duet finalists in the top 6 will receive medals. Sweepstakes plaques will be awarded to the top two teams competing.

We will follow NSAA Guidelines for all events and sweepstakes tabulation.

Impromptu will be 5 min. maximum speech time: no minimum. Impromptu competitors will not receive medals, but will be given a special award for their efforts. I said they had to be brave, right?

In an effort to give our students more experience, Aquinas competitors will be allowed to break into finals, as individuals. They will not be in the running for a team sweeps trophy.  Our goal is to have a tough but friendly competition,  that takes a little bit of pressure of the season and offers feedback that you can use going forward. We will do all that we can to help every competitor to do their best. Locker tags will be back this year, as well, feel free to take yours home with you! Also, if you wish to keep your team poster that is absolutely allowed!

Registration will begin at 7:15a.m. on the 16th. There will be a general meeting at 8:15a.m.

I love being done on time or early, so if we can tighten this schedule at all every effort will be made!
