We are happy to invite you to our SkyHawk Speech High School Invitational on Friday February 7th, 2020! We hope our competition will gather some of the best speech programs in the state and help prepare your team for post-season speech competition.

FEES/DEADLINES:

Entries are due by Tuesday, February 4th, at 7:00 PM. Each entry costs only $7.00.

All drops after the deadline will incure a $10 fee. Last-minute adds will be allowed until Thursday February 6th at Noon; however, all adds after the Tuesday deadline will accure a $10 fee in addition to the entry fee.

EVENTS:

All 9 NSAA sanctioned categories will be offered. Schools may enter up to 3 students/groups in each category.

Students may triple enter; however, students in Extemporaneous and Oral Interpretation of Drama will need to use their time wisely as we will not hold rounds late.

In order to accommodate schools from various classifications, Extemporaneous Speakers will be allotted 45 minutes for prep time.

JUDGES:

You will need to bring one judge per 5 entries.

***All judges at our competition MUST be NSAA-certified.***

Please bring judges if you are able. If you are unable to find certified judges to cover your whole squad, that is fine as we plan on hiring several judges from the NSAA roster.

If you register judges and they are not certified, they will be dropped from the Speechwire roster and you will be billed accordingly.

AWARDS:

In all categories - the Top 6 will advance to finals, and if entry numbers are larger than 35 we will break to 6 in Champs and 6 in Honors.

Extemporaneous and Oral Interpretation of Drama will have finals sections of 4 entries each for the sake of time if breaking the top 12, so the Top 12 in those categories would go to Champs, Honors, and Merit sections of finals.

If entry numbers allow, we will add more sections of finals, but this will be determined after the Tuesday deadline.

Students who double or triple enter are eligible for Individual Sweepstakes Awards as well.

Teams will be split up by NSAA Classification for Sweepstakes Awards; the number of schools attending will determine the number of team awards given out.

FOOD:

For students/competitors, concessions will be sold in our Commons throughout the tournament. A judges/coaches lounge will be available in the Teacher's Lounge as well

CHECKS:

Please make your check (1 per team) payable to Skutt Catholic High School c/o SkyHawk Speech.

We are excited to host this competition. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us!
