Drakes Speech Challenge (CANCELED)
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Minnesota. View manager contact information Registration Deadline: Tuesday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m. Deadline to Drop Entries without fee penalty: Thursday, March 12 at 4:00 p.m. Registration: $6.00 per entry, no entry limit. No triple entries.
NOTE: CHECKS MUST BE MADE OUT TO "BHS SPEECH BOOSTERS," and NOT to the School or School District.
On March 14, registration will begin at 7:15 a.m.
Draws will begin at 8:30 am with Round 1 competition rounds at 9:00 a.m. / Discussion at 9:15
10:30 a.m. / Discussion at 10:45
12:00 p.m. / Discussion at 12:15
2:00 p.m. Final Round for categories with 8 or more participants
3:45 p.m. Awards Presentation
* Team trophies will be presented to the top 3 scoring teams + 1 small school top entry
* Medals for individuals placed 1-6
* Ribbons to non-placing finalist and others who demonstrate superior ability.
Concessions will be available to students / Lounge with food and beverage for coaches, judges, and drivers
Please ensure that your speakers and judges are aware of the rules and etiquette of their categories and competition and that your judges are aware of MSHSL rules, expectations regarding keeping explicit ballots and writing critiques that provide speakers with appropriate feedback and suggestions. Ensure that you bring the correct number of judges for your team and enter them by name and judge type preference. If necessary we will change them to "Judge All" to cover all rounds of competition.
Assistance from experienced head coaches will be welcome in the tab room and ballot drop. We look forward to seeing you in Blackduck on March 14th!
