The Marshall Tiger Speech Team invites your team to the 20th Annual Marshall Speech Spectacular! We call our tournament "Spectacular" because it is truly like no other tournament around. The "Spectacular" is a two-day experience that offers your team separate Novice and Varsity divisions, 4 preliminary rounds, quarter finals, semi finals, and finals! We welcome all teams of all sizes and experience levels! Every year we host some of the best competition you'll find including many teams from out of state plus a diverse array of teams from every corner of Minnesota. We'd love to have your team join us this season!

Registration Deadline is Friday, January 17 at 4:00.  Changes can be made to a team's entry without cost until Wednesday, January 22 at 8am.  After this time, final invoices are printed.  Drops are allowed but NOT refunded and adds are no longer allowed.

  • Each team is asked to bring 1 judge for every 6 entries.
  • Uncovered entries cost $30 each
  • Large teams bringing over 60 entries:  your team meets its judge obligation with 10 judges.  All entries over 60 are judge-free!

  • Two venues are used for the tournament - Marshall High School and Southwest Minnesota State University.  MHS is the headquarters for the tournament where registration, tab, awards, and all out-rounds are held.  Only prelims of designated events will be held at SMSU.  A continuous shuttle bus will be provided to bring students to and from SMSU and will also provide continuous service to those who are double entered in both buildings.  The shuttle trip is short (just across the highway) and students have not had trouble being double entered in both buildings in the past.  Teams do not need to take their students to SMSU.  All competitors competing at SMSU will be able to get there themeselves from MHS via the provided shuttle bus.
