We are pleased to invite you to the First Annual Panther Tournament at United Township High School in East Moline! The school has recently undergone an extensive renovation which makes it ideal for hosting. Please, read the information below and contact us with any questions. See you January 18, 2020!

 

 

DATE: Saturday, January 18, 2020

 

STRUCTURE: Two flighted preliminary round (one single judged, one double-judged). Round 1A will begin at 8:00am and there will be a judges/coaches meeting at 7:30 am. 

 

ENTRY: You may enter as many speakers as I you would like. However, sweepstakes will be determined by the top two entries in each event.

 

JUDGES: Each team is expected to bring one qualified judge for every five entries. Hired judges may be available at a cost of $100 per judge.

 

FEES:                   1 – 28 entries:                 $125

                        29 – 42 entries:                $175

                        43 – 55 entries:                $225

                        56+ entries:                    $275

 

EVENTS: All 14 IHSA events.

 

AWARDS: Varsity and novice finalists will receive awards. The top three teams will also receive plaques.

 

REGISTRATION:   Begins at 7:00am at the front of the school. 

 

EXT/IMP TOPICS: Each team should submit 10 Impromptu topics and 10 Extemp questions via SpeechWire.

 

RULES:                  Impromptu –     IHSA rules will apply. 

                        Radio –         Prep for EACH prelim and prep again for finals.

                        Extemp –        Prep for EACH prelim and prep again for finals.

                        Time –          Only in Radio as per IHSA rules.

 

HOSPITALITY: There will be a hospitality room for all coaches, judges, and bus drivers located in the Gallery. Feel free to enjoy the complimentary snacks, beverages, and lunch!

 

CONCESSIONS: We will be providing concessions for students in our cafeteria.
