Wanted to invite you to the Chesterton Debate Tournament on Nov 7, 2019 - this will be a one day tournament.  For those of you from Illinois, Chesterton is located at less than an hour outside of Chicago in Northwest Indiana.  The invite follows this message, please contact me if you have any questions - chslowery@gmail.com

Events Offered:
- Lincoln Douglas – Varsity and Novice; JV if the numbers allow it
- Public Forum – Varsity and Novice for sure; JV if the numbers allow it
- Policy Debate – Varsity and Novice
- Congressional Debate – Varsity and Novice
- World School Debate – Open Division
 
Entry Caps
- Initial caps per events will be as follows
o 8 per division for CX, LD, and PFD (meaning you could enter 6 varsity and up to 6 novices in LD)
o 3 entries for World School debate
o no cap for Congressional Debate
- If room allows it, we will happily accept entries off of a waiting list
 
Judges
- We are single flighting both LD and PF!  
o This means that we need 1 judge for every 2 entries in LD, PFD, Policy, and World School (or fraction thereof)
o Congressional Debate – 1 judge for every 5 congress entries (or fraction thereof)
- A varsity member who is at least a junior and has over 250 NFL points may judge novice.  Their coach is responsible for the quality of their ballots
 
Meals:
- Full lunch will be available for students to buy; some breakfast and other items will be available throughout the day.  Judges meals will be provided in the lounge
 
Fees:
- $0 per entry
- $20 dollar fee for every missing judge beyond your quota
 
Rounds:
- 6 Rounds for PFD and LD 
o 4 Rounds of Policy and World School
o 3 Rounds for Congressional Debate (including a scramble round)

Registration:
- Speechwire
- Final entries are due the Monday of the tournament (including judges)
- Drops will be accepted without penalty – but it is preferred that they are done as early as possible
Schedule:
- 7:00 – 8:00 am – Final Registration on sight
- 8:15 – Round 1:  all events
- 9:15 – Round 2 – LD; PFD
- 10:15 – Round 2 – Policy and World School; Round 3 – LD; PFD
- 12:00 – Round 4 – LD; PFD; Round 2 Congress
- 12:15 – Round 3 – Policy (varsity will have a challenge round) and World School
- 1:00 – Round 5 – LD; PFD
- 2:00 – Round 6 – LD; PFD; Round 4 Policy
- 2:30 – Round 3 Congress; Round 4 WSD
- 3:30 – LD;PFD finals
 
Topics:
- LD – NSDA Nov-Dec Topic 
- PFD – NSDA Nov-Dec Topic 
- Policy – NSDA Arms Sales Topic.  Indiana has novice restrictions; novices are limited to Aff cases about India, Saudi Arabia, Drones, and/or Small Arms
- World School Debate – To Be determined
- Congressional Debate – 3 from the IHSFA.org docket that are to be determined and a "scramble legislation."  Students will receive documents about the issue that is reveal in the 'scramble round' and will prepare in the caucus before the legislation comes up for a vote.
