Dear Colleague,

 

You and your students are cordially invited to the 2019 Marian High School Black Book-a-Thon Speech Tournament to be held on Friday, February 8, 2019.

 

We will be running ten events with three rounds and finals. Round ribbons will be given out for the top three places in each section, and trophies and medals will be given for the top six places. If we have enough entries, we will include honors and champ finals.

 

Pizza, ice cream, and other concessions will be served for students, along with a fully-stocked judges’ lounge.

 

We look forward to seeing you all again in February!

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS INFORMATION

1. Students may enter three events (at their own risk).

2. We will offer competition in ten events.  

 

Extemporaneous, Original Oratory, Duet Acting, Informative Speaking, Entertainment Speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Poetry, Oral Interpretation of Drama, and Program of Oral Interp

 

NSAA rules will be followed for all events except POI. NSDA rules will be followed for POI.

 

Entry Fees

Individual Event entry: $7.00 per entry

 

Entries will only be accepted through Speechwire.com.

 

Judges

We request that all judges be competent and experienced.

One judge per every five Individual Event entries.

$15.00 for each uncovered entry.
