The Annual Geneva Viking Invitational is back! We will be hosting a full tournament with all 14 IHSA events, three preliminary rounds, a final round, fantastic concessions, an amazing tab room and so much more! We hope to follow along with our tradition of getting everyone on the bus while the sun is still out!

Saturday, January 5th!'

STRUCTURE:

We will running the meet with three preliminary rounds and a final round. The first round for all events will begin at 8:30am. Radio will prep at 7:45am, Extemp will prep at 8:00am. For the second round, Radio will prep at 9:15am, Extemp will prep at 9:30, Round 2 will begin for all events at 10:00am. During the final round, Radio and Extemp will choose from rounds 1 & 2, all round 3 will being at 11:15am. Finals will be posted at 12:30pm.

ENTRY:

Bring as many entries as you would like! Fees are based on the number of entries that you are bringing as of January 3rd at noon. Numbers will be taken at that time.

JUDGES:

Each team is expected to bring one qualified judge for every six entries.  If you wish to bring extra entries, you will be asked to bring extra judges as well (once again, based on numbers as of January 3rd).

FEES:  

        28 entries or less      $150

        29-42 entries   $175

        43-56 entries   $200

        57 or more entries      $250

Checks are to be made out to Geneva High School

EVENTS:

All 14 IHSA events, of course! We will also follow all of the IHSA rules.

AWARDS:

All individual finalists and the top 3 teams will receive awards.

REGISTRATION:

Begins at 7:00am.

TOPICS:

Each team should submit 10 Impromptu topics and 10 Extemp questions via SpeechWire.

PREP:

Radio will prep that morning for Rounds 1 and 2.  Extemp will prep for Rounds 1 and 2. Students will then be able to pick either one for Round 3. Both events will prep for finals.

ALL ENTRIES DUE:        Thursday, January 3rd by 12:00pm

CONCESSIONS:

We will have a concession stand for all of the competitors. Breakfast, lunch, water, and coffee will be provided to all judges and coaches!
