Dear Forensics Coaches,

On behalf of the administration, forensics staff and students of Sheboygan North High School, I am pleased to invite you and your team to participate in the Sheboygan North 2018 Forensics Tournament and Student Congress. The dates for this years' events are Friday, March 2 (Congress) and Saturday, March 3 (Tournament). We anticipate a successful and efficient tournament once again. To this end, we provide the following information:

REGISTRATION
Please register online at www.speechwire.com.

ENTRIES
Register all entries as Varsity on SpeechWire. There is no limit to how many entries a team may have for the tournament, however, no more than 4 entries in a particular category will count toward your team score. You will be able to manage your team entries via SpeechWire until noon on Friday, March 2. After that, please contact Kirt Graves at kgraves@sasd.net with any changes.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES
We will accept double and triple entries. Students in draw categories (Radio, Extemp, and Impromptu) may double enter (not triple) but not in more than one draw category. (For example, an Extemper may double enter in Prose, but he/she/they may not double enter in Radio.)

Please submit your student congress entries for Friday, March 2 using this link. (In years past, we have canceled student congress due to lack of interest. Please register before Wednesday, February 28, so I have an accurate count). Enter each student separately and email Kirt with any questions at kgraves@sasd.net. The first session will begin at 4:15 p.m. Participants should gather in the Library/IMC to find out which chamber they are assigned to and where to go. Food for judges and participants will be provided.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
If any member(s) of your team and/or coaching staff have special needs (mobility, elevator requirements, etc.) please contact Kirt Graves in advance so appropriate accommodations can be made.

RULES
All categories will be contested employing WFCA rules. Rule violations will be addressed by the tournament director. Please consult www.wfcaforensics.org for category rules. (The exception is Oratorical Declamation, which will follow NCFL rules.) Tournament-specific instructions on Impromptu will be given during the judges' meeting.

FEES
Entry fees are: $10 for individual entries and $12 for entries in Play Acting, Duo and Group Interp. A limited number of hired judges will be available for $100 each.

JUDGES
Each school must provide one competent judge for every five student entries or portion thereof. (For example, a team with 12 entries should provide three judges.) Please choose judges wisely. Regardless of student drops, please bring the number of judges indicated at registration.

AWARDS
Individual awards will be presented to the top three competitors in each category. The remaining finalists will receive medals. Team sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to large, medium, and small teams. Once again, the Sheboygan Crown will be awarded to the school that attends both the Sheboygan South and Sheboygan North tournaments. The school with the highest total points amongst its top four speech entries and top four interp entries at each tournament will win this highly coveted award.

FOOD
Concessions and meals will be available for purchase in the North High Commons throughout the tournament. Please plan to eat lunch at North High, so final rounds are not delayed.

MORNING CHECK-IN
Please text Kirt Graves at 920-287-1207 the morning of the tournament to confirm that your team is on its way and to report any adds/drops. If your call/text does not go through or you do not receive a text confirming that your text was received, please keep trying! (Anyone who works in an older building knows they can swallow cell reception.)
