2018 WFCA State Tournament

Friday & Saturday, April 6-7, 2018

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

 

Greetings!

 

You and your team are invited to participate in the 2018 WFCA State Tournament at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater! Preparations are well underway for what should be an exciting, efficient and fun day for everyone.

 

As you begin your preparations, here is some important information for you.

 

Schedule

6:00-7:15 Teams confirm entry via text

7:30-8:10 Registration in the University Center

8:10 Judges’ Meeting in Hamilton Room, University Center

8:30 Radio/Extemp Draw Begins

9:00 Timeslot 1

10:15 Timeslot 2

11:30 Timeslot 3

12:45 Timeslot 4

2:15 Semi Final Rounds

4:15 Final Rounds

6:00 Awards Ceremony in Irving Young Auditorium

Students will participate in 3 Preliminary rounds spread over the 4 timeslots.

Registration

-Maximum of 25 entries per team.

-Maximum of 4 entries per category.

-Single entry only.

 

Judges

-Judges should also be registered on www.speechwire.com

-Each school is asked to provide 1s competent judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof. (For example: 1-5 entries=1 judge, 6-10 entries=2 judges, etc. )

 

Fees

-$7.00 Individual entries

-$10.00 Group entries

-$100.00 Uncovered judge

 

Invoices/Checks

Each team will be given their bill at the conclusion of the tournament and schools will be asked to mail their payment. This will ensure that the invoice is as accurate as possible and reflects any drops you might have.

Rules

WFCA rules will be used for all events. For a list of rules see www.wfcaforensics.org.

Awards

-Plaques are presented to the top six competitors in each event.

-Medals are presented to semi-finalists.

-Trophies are presented to the top six teams in each of three divisions. (Please see WFCA bylaws for information on team divisions.)

 

Deadlines

Saturday, March 24 -Speechwire opens for member schools that have attended a coaching clinic this school year

Friday, March 30- Deadline for registration in Speechwire

Monday, April 2-Food orders close in Speechwire

Thursday, April 5 - Speechwire closes to changes
