Hello fellow speech coaches!  

 

Due to weather issues on Monday. Our speech meet was postponed. My superintendent asked to put on information on hosting the meet on Tuesday, March 6th, but in the afternoon/evening. 

 

We will only be accepting online registrations at SpeechWire. 

 

The deadline for accepting this invitation is will be Friday, March 2nd, 2018. Please have all student competitors entered by the deadline.  Registration will close at 10:00 P.M. on the 2nd.  You can update and change your entries as many times as you want up until that time, but no additions will be allowed after this time. 

 

Because this is our first tournament held on a Monday it will be a varsity only meet, but your school may bring as many entries as they wish. Tournament competition will consist of ONE preliminary round with two judges followed by one final round with two judges.  The top six competitors in each division will advance to the final round competition.  All varsity finalists will receive medals.  We have trophies for the varsity division first place team and runner up. 

 

Double entries and triple entries are accepted. Please make sure your extempers understand that they must be on time for extemp. Waiting on extempers to present can seriously alter the schedule of a meet. Flight A events will consist of Entertainment, OID, Informative, Serious Prose and Poetry while Flight B events will consist of Duet Acting, Humorous Prose, Extemporaneous, and Persuasive.  Extemp prep will be in the high school library, located in the new addition of the building.  Please pay close attention to the scheduled flights when determining whether or not a student can handle two or more events. Also, no team limit is placed in any event. 

 

Concessions will be in the commons area and will be provided by the Wynot Booster Club. 

 

Registration will be in the commons. Homeroom and awards will be in the gymnasium.  All announcements, including finalists, will be posted in the gymnasium. There will also be a brief drop/add announcement meeting in the  new library in the new addition.

Judges will need to be provided for every 6 entries.  Uncovered judging slots will be charged $15 per uncovered entry.  Please arm your judges with stopwatches.  All judges will need to be on call for finals.  A hospitality room for all coaches, judges, and bus drivers will be on the stage, located to the north of the gymnasium. Please see me if your bus driver will be staying, as we have lunch certificates for them as well.

 

Fees are $7.00 per entry, individual or group.  Fees must be paid at morning registration or earlier.  There will not be any refunds for drops. 

Schedule times for the invite follow below.  The meet will run from approximately 2:00 P.M. through 8:00 P.M.  Registration will begin as early as 1:00 P.M. with all schools checking in no later than 1:45 P.M.
