The 2016-17 topic is “Resolved: Science leaves no room for free will.” Students can compete as either a single maverick or a pair. Visit www.speechanddebate.org/big-questions/ for more information on this incredible new debate opportunity! Because the NSDA is supporting this event there is no entry fee for Big Questions Debate! Your students can compete for free!
Rounds: There will be 5 rounds of competition across Speech and Debate. Congress will have 2 preliminary sessions and a Final Session.
Judges: In order to run a smooth and efficient tournament, we will need you to provide 1 judge for every 5 IE entries (including Congress) and 1 judge for every 2 debate entries (per event) or any fraction thereof.
Entry fee: Entry fees will be $15.00 per competitor (so $30.00 per entry in Policy, PF, and Duo). This will include all student and judge meals. Your speech competitors can double enter for no additional charge!
