MDL Open Tournament 2015
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Wisconsin. View manager contact information Registration is open for the 2015 MDL Open Tournament! Details: Saturday, October 31 at Rufus King High School (1801 W. Olive St, Milwaukee, WI 53209) Divisions: VSS, JVSS, NSS, LD, & PF. Novice is intended for first year debaters and JV is intended for second year debaters. In Policy Debate, please keep any oral comments after the round to a minimum. Policy debate prep time is 8 minutes for all divisions. LD Prep is 4 min. PF Prep is 2 min. Policy Debate Disclosure Guidelines and Evidence Restrictions: Novice is restricted to the MDL NOVICE PACKET (War on Drugs Aff/Neg, NSA Aff/Neg, and Immigration Surveillance Aff/Neg, Topicality, and Terrorism and Organized Disadvantages). According to MDL policy, novices must use the novice packet and CANNOT supplement arguments with outside research- this rule will be in effect at the tournament. WDCA teams that have written their own cases can either run the MDL novice packet in novice or run their cases in JV. The JV division can run any case (as long as they follow the MDL disclosure policy) any counterplan is allowed and no kritiks can be run in JV. In JVSS and VSS, ANY affirmative other than the MDL novice packet must be disclosed on milwaukeedebateleague.wikispaces.com. Disclosures are all tags, citations, and plan texts that will be read in the 1AC. Teams must disclose by the registration deadline, Tuesday, October 27th at 6:00 pm. LD/PF Topics: We will be using the October topics. Judge Requirements: 1 judge per 1-2 VSS/JVSS/NSS/LD/PF entries or any fraction thereof. 1 judge may cover 1 LD & 1 PF entry- we'll assume they can judge both unless you specify otherwise. Registration: Registration deadline is TUESDAY, October 27th at 6:00 pm. Use speechwire.com. Let me know if you have problems. Tentative Schedule: Registration: Room 200 EVERYTHING 8:00-8:30 *Please note that if you are not at the school to register by 8:30 and I haven't received a phone call from you at 414-267-0870, we will start dropping your teams in the computer.*

Fees: VSS/NSS: $30 per entry LD/PF: $20 per entry *Entry fees include food for the day. There will NOT be concession for purchase. Let me know about any dietary restrictions when registering. If you do not bring the required amount of judges, I reserve the right to either charge you $150 per missing judge or unregister your teams until the judges you have present are enough to cover your obligation.
