OSDA Middle School Online Tournament Series

The Ohio Speech & Debate Association (OSDA) cordially invites you to participate in the OSDA Middle School Online Tournament Series on Wednesday, November 18, 2026!

 

This tournament is FREE and open to all OSDA member middle school teams. The tournament is exclusively for middle school competitors.

 

About the Online Tournament Series

 

The OSDA Online Tournament Series was created to expand access to speech and debate, strengthen competitive opportunities, and support student learning throughout Ohio.

 

We recognize that many teams face challenges related to travel, scheduling, and access to competitive opportunities. By offering free online tournaments, the OSDA hopes to remove some of these barriers while providing meaningful learning experiences for students, judges, and coaches.

 

Whether your team is new to speech and debate or has years of experience, this series provides an opportunity for students to develop their skills, gain valuable competition experience, and connect with other middle school competitors across Ohio.

 

All OSDA rules and regulations will apply to this tournament.

 

Tournament Format

 

The tournament will be held synchronously (live) using SpeechWire for tournament management and NSDA Campus for online competition rooms.

 

Please review the tournament schedule for specific registration, check-in, and competition times.

Congressional Debate

 

Extemporaneous Debate

Original Oratory

 

Extemporaneous Speaking

Debate Topics and Legislation:

 

Congressional Debate: The OSDA November 2026 docket will be used.

 

Public Forum Debate: The November 2026 topic will be used.

 

Registration Information

 

Registration Deadline: Monday, November 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM

 

There is no registration fee to participate in this tournament.

 

We encourage teams to register early and review their entries and judging obligations before the registration deadline.

 

Judging Requirements

 

Teams are expected to fulfill their judging obligations based on their tournament entries.

 

Judges for hire will not be available for this tournament. Please make every effort to provide enough judges to cover your team's entries. Teams that do not meet their judging obligations may be asked to reduce their entries to ensure the tournament operates smoothly.

 

High school students who meet the OSDA's judging eligibility requirements are permitted to serve as judges for this middle school tournament.
