The Canfield Speech and Debate Tournament will be conducted on Saturday, January 9, 2027.
Please Register (or indicate your team is not attending) ASAP - TENTATIVE Registration by Monday, December 7 at 5 PM!
This will help us plan which buildings to use as well as an overall plan for logisitcs. Any applicable updates to tournament logistics will be communicated soon thereafter.
At some point, we will likely need to have a waitlist.
Registering ASAP helps avoid any issues with team registration.
Waitlisted entries will be approved as quickly as possible.
We will accommodate as many teams and entries as reasonably feasible.
We anticipate drops in mid-to-late December, as teams confirm student attandance.
Double Entry WILL be permitted in Speech Events at this tournament, with the only exception being that a student cannot be entered in both extemps (IX and USX).
Students who are double-entered while competing in one of the extemps must be prompt in reporting to their rounds and must understand that delays can impact their extemp prep time.
(It is possible they will have less than 30 minutes prep time in each round.)
Middle School competition will NOT be offered at this tournament.
Per OSDA policy, for each team, an administratively approved coach (on record with the OSDA) MUST check in by 8:15 AM and be in attendance throughout the entire tournament.
