Pride Pop-Up Asynch
General information This is a College tournament in New York. View manager contact information Pride Pop-Up Asynch hosted by Hofstra University October 19 - 22, 2026 Hofstra University is pleased to host a Pride Pop-Up Asynch Tournament featuring all NFA speech events AND novice/varsity divisions (per NFA bylaws: a novice shall consist of any student competing in their first two semesters of forensics competition, including high school). NFA rules, bylaws and constitution govern all events. We will also observe the NFA point scale for this tournament: 30 - Superb 26-29 - Inspiring 22-25 - Compelling 18-21 - Memorable 14-17 - Effective 10-13 - Underdeveloped 6-9 - Deficient 1-5 - Incomplete We will attempt to have two prelims and a final for each event. For small events, we will have two rounds with three judges. We reserve the right to collapse novice and varsity divisions in entry numbers warrant. Schedule (varies slightly from other asynch tournaments) Friday, October 16 IMP/EXT prompts posted by 12noon EST Monday, October 19 Entries and video links due by 9PM EST Wednesday, October 21 All prelim ballots due by 9pm EST Thursday, October 22 All final ballots due by 9pm EST Friday, October 23 Results posted on Speechwire Fees: Registration Fee $25 per school IE Slot $10 per slot Uncovered Slots $20 per uncovered slot (1 judge covers 6 slots) Each school MUST provide at least one judge!

Entry Rules:
GENERAL: All programs and speeches must not have been used by a student in any competition (high school or college) prior to September 1, 2026. Competitors must be undergraduates working on their first degree.
ENTRIES: Each student may enter as many events as they want. Events that have 7 or fewer entries will be judged "head-to-head" by three judges. Events with 8 or more entries will be judged by two judges in "preliminary" rounds and then broken to a "head-to-head" final with at least one judge (3 if the pool allows). From prelims into the final, ties will be broken by speaker points. In "head-to-head" rounds, ties will be broken by speaker points and then by judges' preference.
LP Events only need to provide one video for all rounds. Impromptu videos should include prep time. Extemp should NOT include prep time.
MODALITY: This is an asynchronous tournament. Please make sure your videos are set to be "unlisted" so they can be accessed by our judges.
