The Wayne High School Speech & Debate Team is excited to welcome you to the Wayne Novice TournaShop on Saturday, October 24th, 2026!

The annual TournaShop event provides an invaluable opportunity for new competitors to come together before the regular season begins to learn and collaborate with their fellow newcomers. With varsity students serving as judges, we also have the opportunity to spend time providing substantive and beneficial training for new adults joining the fold as judges.

Making its return to the TournaShop experience this year is the Judge Training Showcase Round, which gives our newly trained parent judges the chance to practice what they've learned with experienced student competitors in their events! The Showcase creates a tremendous foundation for new judges, so PLEASE encourage your parents to attend if they are able!

The event schedule is designed to provide a consistent flow of events throughout the day, while also allowing for any necessary adjustments as the day progresses. Registration will begin at 7:30am, and we will hold an Opening Meeting at 8:30am in the Cafeteria. The day will consist of 3 rounds of Speech, 3 rounds of Debate, and 2 rounds of Congress. (More information will follow regarding training times and locations.)

As we near the event, more specific details will be shared regarding parking, food, payment methods, etc. If you have ay questions before then, please feel free to reach out!

We look forward to seeing you and your new members on October 24th!
