π OCPS Speech & Debate Scrimmage #1 π
Welcome to our first league scrimmage of the 26-27 school year! All Orange County Public Schools are invited to register for this free scrimmage held at Horizon High School on September 30th.
Registration is completed via Speechwire. If your school does not yet have an account, please create one—reach out if you need assistance!

π Judge Guides: Printed guides will be available in every room for judges to consult. There's a digital copy under "Files for Download."
π Judge Pool: All judges can be assigned to any event. If a judge has a preference, please note it during registration.
π Junior Judges: Varsity student judges are welcome but may only judge Middle School and HS Novice divisions.
βοΈ Varsity Divisions: Offered conditionally. If a varsity division lacks numbers to run independently, it will be collapsed and varsity debaters will be encouraged to judge to protect MS/Novice divisions.
π Reminders & Logistics
π₯ Register Judges Early: Please register as many judges as possible and report entry/judge drops ASAP so we can stay on schedule!
ποΈ Awards: 1st–3rd place medals awarded in each event. If divisions are combined into "All Novice," we will award 1st–3rd alongside a special Top Middle Schooler recognition.
β±οΈ Two-Round Format: This is a 2-round event (1 session for Congress). Due to the shortened schedule, abbreviated tiebreakers (Wins/Ranks followed by Head-to-Head and Adjusted Points/Reciprocals) are used to determine final standings.
