Buena Vista High Speech

THE 2026 VOICE OF THE VISTA TOURNAMENT

 

The Buena Vista High Speech Team would like to invite you to the VOICE OF THE VISTA Tournament on Saturday, November 14, 2026!  We are an NIETOC Bid tournament to the NIETOC National Tournament.

 

Tournament Format

     There will be three rounds of competition and finals. Competitors may TRIPLE ENTER this year. Please understand that this will make for a busy day for the students, they will need to move quickly to keep the tournament on time. Varsity and Novice will division are available. 

 

Fees

     Entry fees will be $8.00. An $8 entry drop fee will be applied for drops made AFTER the entry deadline. All fees will be assessed at entry deadline.

 

Judging

    Please provide one judge for every five (5) entries. Judges may be hired at $15 per uncovered entry. We are using online balloting this year. When you register as a judge on Speechwire, please make sure you include a valid email address. If you have a large entry, we may have to limit the number of judges you bring. We may have to run rounds with your speakers hitting.  Questions? Call Marc.

 

E-Ballots & Schematics

   We will use e-ballots this year. Please bring an electronic device (iPad, phone, laptop) with wireless capabilities. We will deliver schedules and schematics to judges and competitors electronically. Please subscribe to the tournament for updates. 

 

Concessions

    There will be a concession stand available throughout the tournament for competitors.  No breakfast served. In between rounds 2 and 3 pizza, and other hot items, will be sold for lunch.  

 

Awards

We will award sweeps plaques to the top 3 teams. Individual awards will be given to the top 6 competitors in each event. We will also have awards for the top three speakers for the tournament.
