MUNSTER NOVICE SPEECH MEET (Virtual-Asynchronous)
Tournament Date: November 21 to November 28.  
 
Overview
Munster High School welcomes your team to a rewarding early season opportunity.  The tournament’s purpose is to begin training and mentoring beginners.  Although this is a competition, the emphasis will be on learning. We will run three straight rounds without an awards ceremony. There will be no team sweeps. Students with 100 points or less are invited to participate in one division. Students will more than 100 points are invited to judge the tournament.

EXTEMP:  Students will submit one video.   Coaches will provide the questions and allow 30 minutes to prepare the speech.  Honor Policy.
 
IMPROMPTU: Impromptu will have a total of seven minutes to prep and deliver their speech.  Students will prep on the camera. 
 
DUO/Duet:  Duo students may use a script or present memorized.  Duet Acting will be featured in this category, and Duet Actors may use a table and two chairs. 
 
 
RADIO: Radio contestants will need to record a five-minute newscast (audio only) that includes a 30 second commercial and a 30 second transition into music copy for a song and artist that will follow the news.  All material should be selected by the student and prepared ahead.  All content is driven by student choice. 
 
DOUBLING: All students may double enter.
 
 
JUDGE REQUIREMENT: Judges will be varsity students recommended to have 100+ NFL points.  Please bring 1 judge (adults are allowed to judge if students are unavailable) for every 5 entries. Newer programs should reach out if having difficulty securing judges. We will make it work. You are welcome to register as many judges as available. 
 
 
REGISTRATION: Please register on speechwire by Monday, November 9.   Videos are due by Sunday, November 22. Ballots will be released by Monday, November 23 and should be returned by November 30.  Awards Ceremony is set for December 1. 
 
VIDEOS - Videos are due by Sunday, November 22 at 6:00 PM.  Youtube links must be set to unlisted and not private.  Videos will be released to judges by Wednesday, November 19th evening.  All ballots are to be submitted by Tuesday, November 25. 
 
AWARDS- Awards recorded video will be sent out by December 1.
