Greetings!

We hope you can join us for the Two Rivers Romance Rumble hosted at Two Rivers High School High School on Saturday, February 13th 2027.

Tournament Format

Format: The tournament will consist of three rounds and finals. The number of finals in each category will be determined by the total number of entries in that category.

Divisions: We will offer novice divisions for elimination rounds. In preliminary rounds novice and variety will be mixed. We define novices as students in their first year of speech or students in grades 7-9, regardless of experience. All students will compete together in prelims to give new students an opportunity to learn from seasoned speakers. Novices may advance to finals (top 7) or next-in finals (next 7) if they qualify.

Double and Triple Entry

Students may double enter in any events, including discussion and a prepared speech. Highly seasoned speakers may triple enter. To celebrate students in multiple events we will offer individual sweepstakes for the top three students! As the tournament is near Valentines Day Individual Sweeps winners will receive roses as a recognition of their hard work.

National Tournament Bids

This tournament is a bid tournament for both NIETOC and TOC. NIETOC Bids are dependent on the number of entries per category. TOC bids will go to the top three finishers in each category that is awarded bids. NIETOC will be held in Aurora, CO at Cherokee Trail HS May 14-16. TOC will be held at the University of Kentucky April 17-19.
