We are so excited to welcome you to Mounds Park Academy for our first ever, full home tournament. We are incredibly grateful to our co-hosts Stillwater and Two River over the last 5 years, and we can't wait to show you our updated campus.

 

We are proud to announce that we are a NIETOC Nationals Bid Tournament for the 2026-2027 season. Let us know if you have any questions on NIETOC, or how the process works! We will offer all 13 MSHSL events plus POI and Impromptu. Extemp Speaking themes, Impromptu rules, and a live document will be posted to “Files for Download” in the coming months.

 

This year, we are also a TOC Bid Tournament, for the TOC National Tournament in April 2027 at the University of Kentucky.

 

The tournament will consist of three rounds and finals. We will offer novice divisions for elimination rounds. We define novices as students in their first year of speech or students in grades 7-9, regardless of experience. All students will compete together in prelims to give new students an opportunity to learn from seasoned speakers. Novices may advance to finals (top 7) or next-in finals (next 7) if they qualify. 

 

Students may double enter in any events, including discussion. Highly seasoned speakers may triple enter. To celebrate students trying new events, we will offer individual sweepstakes for the top three students!

7:30 AM - Teams Begin Arriving to Mounds Park Academy

8:00 AM - Confirm Entries in Speechwire (will be live scheduling)

8:30 AM - Draw Round 1

8:45 AM - Round 1 Discussion

9:00 AM - Round 1

10:30 AM - Round 2

10:45 AM - Round 2 Discussion

11:45 AM - Draw Round 3

12:15 PM - Round 3

12:30 PM - Round 3 Discussion

2:00 PM - Finals 

2:15 PM - Discussion Finals

4:30 PM - Awards 

 

Registration and Fees

The cost is $7 per entry.

Our registration deadline is Wednesday January 13th, at 5PM.

We will be site scheduling, so please let us know by 7:45 AM on tournament day if there are any changes. You can report changes to 952-240-3266.

Checks can be made out to Mounds Park Academy Speech Team.
