4 The Only 10 I See
General information This is a College tournament in Online. View manager contact information After discussion with the former board and our intellectual property lawyers, we have decided not to Chaos Monday this year. Join us instead at “4 The Only 10 I See” for a ‘Last Chance NFA’ style competition.
The tournament will host competition in all 11 NFA events. Placement in finals will count for qualification to NFA, but not to AFA. Novice divisions will be offered when applicable. Our tournament defines novices as a competitor that has not previously attended NFA nationals.
This tournament is a ‘come as you are’ tournament. Competitors are not expected to wear suits and judges will be asked not to rank on attire. Film the async at practice, if that helps!
The schedule will be as follows: Friday, March 6th: LP prompts posted Monday, March 16th at 11:59pm: Entries Due Tuesday, March 17th at 5pm: Video Links are Due Tuesday, March 17th: Preliminary Ballots Released Thursday, March 20th at 5pm: Preliminary Ballots Due; Finals Released Friday, March 21st before 5pm: Results Posted!
Our goal is to make sure that this tournament generates limited paperwork and reconciliation. Covered entries are free. One judge will cover up to 10 entries… but be forewarned: We will assign up to as many rounds throughout the week as you have entries. If you have many entries and have capacity to enter multiple judges, the number of rounds will be split among judges. If you enter multiple judges, feel free to specify the number of rounds the judge has capacity for this week. We are not planning to hire judges but would welcome any volunteers.
We will have two preliminary rounds and one final round. We expect all rounds with three or more competitors to break to a final round. The top 50 percent of entrants will break to a final round, up to six competitors. The final round will have a single judge. We will follow all NFA qualification procedures and requirements so that all finalists will qualify to the NFA National Tournament.
Speaker points will be out of 10. As is NFA tradition, speaker points will be our tiebreaker. Sweepstakes will be determined by total overall speaker points earned. In breaking from NFA tradition, ties on speaker points are allowed. Sophie Stern Mailing address None provided SpeechWire Tournament Services - Copyright 2004-2026 Ben Stewart. All Rights Reserved.
