Edna Cowboy Debates - UPDATED 2/14/2026
Welcome to The Cowboy Debates Spring Fling hosted by Edna High School in Edna, Texas!
The Debates will take place on Saturday March 7, 2026. This tournament/judges are geared to the UIL style of debate. We will do our best to have judging philosophies available to all teams prior to the tournament.
Debate Divisions offered:
CX
LD
We will have 4 rounds of debate. *Edna High School students may be competing*
CX will use the National topic, Resolved: The United States Federal Government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.
LD will use the UIL Spring topic, Resolved: In developing countries, globalization ought to be prioritized over protectionism..
Judging: We ask that schools provide 1 judge per 2 entries in Debate. A $50 judges fee will be added to your invoice for all judges you are not able to provide. We will be using electronic ballots through Speechwire.
Drops: After March 5th will result in a $50 nuisance fee payable before Round 1.
