Tournament Manager: Marissa Stifter
Format: 3 rounds and a final round for the top speakers in each category.
We will offer all 13 MSHSL categories, plus POI. MSHSL Rules will be in effect for all categories. POI should be judged in accordance with NSDA rules. All stories and poems will be used for storytelling and extemp reading. The discussion tasks will come from the following areas [TBD - Will be updated closer to the tournament date]
Double-entering is allowed in all categories. Students should not double enter in Discussion and a Draw Category
Fees: $8.00 per entry (Duo=one entry). Please make checks payable to ISD700 Hermantown Community Schools.
Judges: Please supply one judge for every six (6) entries or portion thereof. Please train your judges. Do not decrease your amount of judges after the registration deadline. A very limited number of judges can be hired for a $100 fee.
Awards: Awards for the top speakers in each category, and honor finals and honorable mentions in circumstances that demand it. The top three teams will be recognized.
Please go into SpeechWire to make any last-minute drops once you are on your way the morning of the tournament. These should be completed by 8:00. Once you're on your way and SpeechWire is updated, text me (612-963-1142) to confirm.
We hope to see you and your team on March 14th! This is our first time hosting a tournament as a coaching team.
