The Central Cass Speech Team invites you to attend our invitational tournament on Saturday, March 7th, 2026.   Events will be offered with two preliminary rounds and a final.  Awards will be given for team, individual, and Top Novice (grades 7-8 and first year 9th graders) placing.   All NDHSAA guidelines will be followed.  We will have internet access available for XS rounds in the school library.  Concessions will be available.  Registration will run from 7:30am – 8:25am with a coaches/judges meeting at 8:30am. Speaking rounds will start at 8:45am. 

 Per NDHSAA Regulations, students may enter a maximum of 2 events at this invitational tournament.  We will allow up to 4 entries per category per school.  Up to 8 contestants will be accepted for the final round, and all finalists will count toward sweepstakes points.   

 NOTE:  The first “draws” for Extemp, EPR, and Radio will be sent by 3:00 p.m. on Friday the 27th.  This will enable us to run our first round earlier with the goal of having awards by 4pm. Enrolling in multiple draw event may result in less prep time. 

  Fees are $7.00 for each single entry and $13.00 for each duo entry.  You must provide one judge for every 6 entries.  Fees for judges provided by the tournament are $75 per judge or $12.50 per entry. Please make every effort to provide your own NDHSAA certified judges. Please ensure they have taken the judges test to become certified. Note any limitations of judging as you are registering them.    

We are using an online service called SpeechWire this year to handle our registration and tabbing processes. In other words, you will be using this system to register your students and judges. We are requesting completed registrations no later than 5:00pm on Friday, February 27th.   If you do not receive a confirmation by Wednesday morning (Mar. 4th), please let me know.  Fees will be assessed as of 5:00pm, March 5th.  Drops made after the deadline will not reduce the registration fee.  Checks for all fees should be made payable to Central Cass School.
