The North Branch Area High School Speech Team is pleased to invite you to the 2026 Mississippi 8 Conference Speech Tournament. 

 

Date:             Tuesday, March 24th, 2026

 

Location:       North Branch Area High School, 38175 Grand Ave, North Branch, MN 55056

 

Categories:    All 13 MSHSL categories.

 

Format:         Three rounds, no finals 

 

Registration: Initial Registration should be done before March 1st so Judges can be finalized.  Registration is due by the end of the day on Friday, March 20th. We will run the tournament at 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 24th, so please have your last-minute drops updated by then. Adds will only be allowed after Friday if they do not increase the number of sections.

 

Arrival: We will be having a judges' meeting at 3:30. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE AT THE SCHOOL BEFORE 3:00 pm.

 

Entries: Limit 52, no more than 6 per event. No double entries. 

 

Fees: $20 per team entry fee.  

 

Food: Food will be provided for coaches, judges, and bus drivers. There will be concessions available for students.

 

Draws: All stories/poems will be included for Extemp. Reading and Storytelling. Students may not repeat a selection from an earlier round.

 

Discussion: TBD

 

Awards: We have individual and team awards. All seniors competing in the Conference Tournament will be honored and will receive a certificate. Individuals in each category will receive All-Conference plaques for first and second place. Third and fourth place individuals will receive All-Conference Honorable Mention certificates. Fifth and sixth place individuals will receive ribbons.
