The forensics team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is pleased to invite you to the Winterfest 2025! This year we have an exciting adjustment to the schedule!
REGISTRATION
Students may enter two duos (with different partners) but this will count as two events. There are no limits on the number of entries a team can enter in any event, but teams entering large numbers in certain events may anticipate “competing” against teammates in preliminary rounds in order to best use judges.
Please denote your novices when registering. We will recognize the top novice in each category at awards. Novices are defined as anyone in their first year (2 semesters) of collegiate competition. ALUMNI CLASSIC JUDGING SCHEDULE

Main St. 424 Heide Hall Whitewater, WI 53190 ALUMNI CLASSIC LIMITED PREPARATION Prompts will be released Thursday November 20 in the afternoon. 1 video per event. Impromptu: proverb or quotation will be used, student will get a choice from 2 prompts Extemp: pick from 3 questions, questions will be designed to be more evergreen and may challenge students to think a bit differently then traditional extemp questions *Please include Impromptu prep, but not extemp prep in the video HONORS The qualification is the prize. Final Round: 1st (12 pts), 2nd (10 pts), 3rd (8 pts.), 4th (6 pts), 5th (4 pts), 6th (2 pts), remaining finalists 1 pt. Each.
Novices: Please denote your novices when registering. We will recognize the top novice in each event. Novices are defined as anyone in their first year of collegiate competition. INDIVIDUAL SWEEPSTAKES Students are entered into individual sweepstakes regardless of the number of events entered or the categories entered. The top three individual speakers (based on total points earned in final rounds combined) will be honored at the awards ceremony. Tiebreakers: 1) Highest total points, 2) Highest number of 1st-place awards in finals, 2nd-place, etc., 3) Highest total of events advancing to finals., 4) Lowest average of ranks from prelims.
TEAM SWEEPSTAKES TIE-BREAKERS If teams are tied after calculating total team points, team tie-breakers will run as follows: 1) Highest total points, 2) Number of firsts in finals, 3) Number of finals, 4)Number of seconds in finals, then thirds, then fourths HOST INFORMATION UW-W Student Competitors UWW students will be entered in the asynchronous tournament. The tournament is being run by team alumni, and not the DOF. Hired Judges The hired judge pool will consist primarily of forensics alums and friends of the program. In concert with the Native American Cultural Awareness Association, Native Students, with faculty and staff, the University continues to explore durable and meaningful ways of acknowledging our relationship.
