Dear Coach:

The Lee’s Summit West Debate and Forensics Squad would like to cordially invite you and your squad to attend the 

Lee’s Summit West High School

Varsity Debate and Forensics Tournament.

The tournament will be held on November 7-8, 2025. Novice competition will be at Lee’s Summit North HS.   Please note: there IS NOT a combined awards assembly this year.  

Lee’s Summit West will host the following Varsity events:  Open Policy, Champ and Reg Lincoln-Douglas, Champ and Reg Public Forum Debate; Student Congress; International and United States Extemporaneous Speaking; Oratory; Informative Speaking, POI, Humorous, Dramatic and Duo Interpretation.

The deadline for receiving entries will be October 31, 2025 on Speechwire.com.  Extra entries will be awarded as available and at the discretion of the host school.  Entry fees will be 8.00/entry.

Please note that due to MSHSAA regulations, laptops or tablets will be allowed in all divisions of debate, extemp, Congressional Debate and poetry/prose.  LSW does not guarantee power sources.  Students using laptops in classrooms may not unplug any electronic device.  Extension cords may not be used in the cafeteria or any other common area due to safety restrictions.
