JHS Invitational 2026:

Saturday February 14th, 2026​

Registration and Fees

• The cost is $7 per entry.

• No more than 10 entries allowed per event per school.

​Registration Deadline

• Please have initial registration entered in Speechwire by Mon Feb 2 This allows us to make any last minute room assignments so we keep rooms close to each other in each category.

• The final day to make registration changes without penalty is Feb 11 at midnight.

• Entry changes (drops or adds) can be made on the speechwire.com tournament site up until the end of registration.

• We will be site scheduling all rounds of competition in order to make sure rounds are equal and fair. For this reason, registration must be completed promptly by 8:00 AM or a phone call to 952-393-8989 must be made to report your team drops.

• Please make checks payable to Jordan High School Speech Team. Please plan to bring your check with you or mail it within ONE WEEK of the meet.

​Team Sweepstakes:

• Team trophies will be available for the top 2 schools in both LARGE and SMALL sizes.

Schedule 

• Registration ends at 8:00 AM.

• Draws start at 8:30 a.m.

• Round I will begin at 9:00 a.m, Round II at 10:30, and Round III at 12:00. 

• There will be three rounds with no finals.  

• We estimate that awards will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Judges

• Each team is required to bring 1 judge for each 6 entries (including double entries).

• For each uncovered entry, the team will be assessed a $100 fee. 

Double/Triple Entering

• Double entering is permissible for all categories except discussion. Triple entry is not allowed.

• Draw categories may double enter but not in another draw category.

Locations and Logistics

• Please drop your team off at the Jordan High School's front entrance.

Minnesota State High School League Event Info:

• Extemp. Reading Prose: Stories 1-10 

• Extemp. Reading Poems: Poems 1-20 **Please email me if you have a poet this year.

• Storytelling Stories: Stories 1-10 

• Discussion will have tasks from Areas I and II
