Hello All! 

We are super excited to be hosting the Monarch Royal Invitational on December 13, 2025. Hope all of you can make it! Please email Lizzy Janssen at lizzy.janssen@plcschools.org if you have any questions or concerns!  When you arrive please be sure you are coming through the NORTH Entrance. This is the NEW front entrance of the school as of a few years ago. The SOUTH entrance doors will not be open for public entry. 

In the past this has been an NIETOC bid tournament. Meaning that we will have enough entries for students who qualify to earn a bid to the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions! 

NIETOC bids are gained at the following levels:

• 0-19 contestants = FIRST PLACE BID

• 20-34 contestants = FIRST, SECOND & THIRD PLACE BIDS

• 35-50 contestants = FINAL ROUND BIDS

• 51-70 contestants = SEMIFINAL ROUND BIDS (HONORS FINALS)

• 71-99 contestants = QUARTERFINAL ROUND BIDS (MERIT FINALS)

• 100 + contestants = OCTAFINAL ROUND BIDS (CONSOLATION FINALS)

Format: This tournament will run in person at Papillion-La Vista High School. Three rounds and finals (no finals for events with less than two sections).

Entries: All students may double or even triple enter. We reserve the right to limit entries based on available space. 

Events: Varsity: DUO, EXT, OO, INF, ENT, POE, DI, HI, POI

          Novice: EXT, OO, INF, POE, DI, HI

Fees: $8.00 per entry 

Entry Deadline: Entries are due by Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

Judging: Please provide one judge for every five (5) entries.  Judges may be hired at $15 per uncovered entry.  We are using online balloting this year. When you register a judge on Speechwire, please make sure you include a valid email address. 

E-Ballots: We will use e-ballots this year. Please bring an electronic device (iPad, phone, laptop) with wireless capabilities. If needed I can run a brief judge training for individual judges before the tournament to explain how to use e-ballots.
