JUDGES:

Please bring one judge for every six entries or fraction thereof. You are welcome to use veteran members as judges ONLY IF you trust their judgement and feedback. 

 

PREP:

Extemp speakers will prep once at 8:30.

Radio speakers should come with a prepared script no older than 24 hours.

 

LUNCH: 

We will order Little Caesars pizza for students (unless another option arises). Pizzas are $14.00 and can be ordered through the Speechwire portal.

As we do for our tournament in January, we will have homemade soups for coaches and judges. This is always a big hit!

 

WORKSHOPS:

There will be something for EVERYONE during these times. The concept is to offer four workshop spaces (acting, book, limited prep, speech) running concurrently in both time slots so students can attend more than one session. The workshops will be run by veteran students (pre-selected, prepped, and high-achieving in the speech area) along with one or two coaches. The idea is to allow our students to pass along their knowledge of events and use the skills they learned through speech team. Overall, the sessions will provide a variety of tips as well as some short demonstrations and coaching sessions. We want students to leave with a strong path forward in their event(s)!

 

We will also offer a coaching round table during one of the sessions. This is an opportunity for all of us to get together and talk about our teams, ask questions, help others, and provide ENCOURAGEMENT. 

 

This is a new idea, so we reserve the right to change the workshop sessions based on the needs and wants of attending teams.
