Dear NSDA Teams and Coaches,
Northwest Novice Mission Statement - This tournament serves to be a starting point to help ease into the season and boost retention as regular tournaments take two days and many hours of belligerent boredom. In addition, lengthy drives and late nights with the lack of a more open weekend turn students away often. This tournament serves to entertain and excite the future of Speech and Debaters.
Savannah High School would like to invite you to the Northwest Novice Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament. Novice for this tournament will be defined as first-year competitors only. This year, our tournament will take place on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. Entries will be due on October 6th, 2025 at 3pm.
We will be hosting Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, US Extemporaneous Speaking, International Extemporaneous Speaking, and Congress. For debate events, will be hosting Public Forum Debate (PF) and Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD). Debate events will break to a quarterfinals round and then all champions will be awarded with a trophy. Congress will award the top four from each chamber after three rounds.
Entries can be entered into SpeechWire.com until Monday, October 6th at 3:00pm. We will guarantee two (2) entries in each event and then all other entries will be waitlisted. Each school will only be allowed one entry in IDA. The entry fee will be $8.00 per entry and $10.00 for partnered events. Each school must provide one variety judge for every five entries.
