Dear Sub-Section 3A South Coaches:
Subsection 3A South will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Windom Area High School. We will need to run a tight schedule for the evening in order to get 3 rounds and finals in!
Schedule
2:30 p.m.-- Registration in the west gym lobby 3:15 p.m. – Coaches’ Meeting in Rm. 132 (ALL coaches please attend)/Draw Room Meeting in the Media Center 3:30 p.m. – Judges’ Meeting in Rm. 131 3:30 p.m. – Room Managers’ Meeting in Rm. 320
3:25 p.m.--Round 1 Draws 3:55 p.m.--Round 1 4:40 p.m.--Round 2 Draws 5:10 p.m.--Round 2 6:10 p.m.-Round 3 Draws 6:40 p.m.-Round 3 7:50 p.m.-Final Round Draws 8:20 p.m.-Finals
Awards will be in the Gold Gym as soon as we have them ready to go!
• Register your students as soon as you can on SpeechWire. Finalize your entries by March 28. NO ADDS after that date; drops are still allowed. Include titles/authors on categories that have those requirements. Please send me an email if the registration process does not seem to work properly.
• Room Managers/Timers: Each school will be required to supply one timer for every 6 entries at the tournament. Please e-mail Lisa Letcher the name(s) of your Room Managers asap.
• Scripts for students must be submitted electronically via the shared Google Folder that Kim Gades has placed in the Section 3 shared Drive.
Windom students will still be in school when teams arrive, so please use the high school gym entrance on the west side of the school (door #7). Team Camps will be in the commons.
Concessions will be available. A reminder: the judges' lounge is only for the hired judges. Room managers/timers will have an assigned room for their lounge for the evening.
All categories will have 3 rounds and a final round.
Coaches will be needed to help throughout the meet. Coaches who are certified MSHSL judges may be needed to fill in on some rounds where you do not have students, particularly in final rounds so that we do not have to flight rounds and so we can get everyone home at a reasonable time. I will work with the Region to see that you are compensated for your work as a judge.
