The Plattsmouth Speech Team invites you and your team to the Blue Devil Invite on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
We will offer two preliminary rounds (flighted) and finals of all ten NSAA events. Medals will be awarded for 1st-6th place in each event and plaques will be given to the top two sweepstakes teams. We will also recognize the top novice speaker in each event with a certificate.
We are proud to be a NIETOC bid tournament this year. Depending on the number of entries will determine how many finalists will earn bids, this will be communicated with you once registration closes.
NIETOC Bids are gained at the following levels:
0-19 contestants = FIRST PLACE BID
20-34 contestants = FIRST, SECOND & THIRD PLACE BIDS
35-50 contestants = FINAL ROUND BIDS
51-70 contestants = SEMIFINAL ROUND BIDS (HONORS FINALS)
71-99 contestants = QUARTERFINAL ROUND BIDS (MERIT FINALS)
100 + contestants = OCTAFINAL ROUND BIDS (CONSOLATION FINALS)
Entries must be in by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26th. Due to the size of our school, we will cap the meet around 350 entries. We also ask that you limit your entries to no more than 3 individuals in an event and only 3 entries per school in group events. Individuals can be TRIPLE entered (no quad entry). We should have room available for some events after registration closes, so if you have an event in which you want to enter additional students, please email me names and events and I will keep a list. Fees for the tournament will be $8 per entry. Each judge you provide will cover 5 slots. We expect to be limited on judges, so please make every effort to provide judges for all your entries. There will be a $15 fee for any uncovered entries you may have. We need your judges more than your money. Checks should be made out to Plattsmouth High School.
A concession stand will be available all day for students to purchase lunch and snacks.
A hospitality room will be provided for all judges and coaches.
