Students' papers and a clean copy of each test will be available in the tab room, which is in the ASC Library. Any unclaimed materials will be discarded after the tournament. We will NOT mail any unclaimed papers or awards.

-
ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 4 P.M. ON Friday, January 10, 2024. Once your school is entered and the deadline has passed, you are obligated for all fees.
-
Entries for Ready Writing and Journalism are limited to 4 per school per event unless space permits more. Copy editing & headline have no entry limit. Please email dayna.lawson@misd.org to request waiting lists. Students will be pulled from the waiting list if the event does not max out by final registration deadline. We will attempt to seat everyone at a computer. In the case that news, feature, and editorial writing are filled to the computer capacity, students on the waitlist may be added beyond the limit of four if they are willing to handwrite their entry. If there are enough people on the waitlist and additional judges can be procured, then we will open up registration for the writing events again.
-
Schools should bring a check payable to Montgomery Independent School District to cover all fees. If you are not able to have a check prepared in time, please have a proof of payment leave a copy with the registration table. All accounts must be paid in full within 30 days. All delinquent accounts are subject to a $100 fee.
Judging and Grading
-
Academic coaches are EXPECTED to grade. Schools that do not provide a coach to assist in grading may be disqualified for that event.
-
Judges will be provided for Ready Writing and Journalism. In the event that there are more than 30 entries for these events, coaches may be asked to assist in judging these events.
Food
-
Hospitality will only have snacks and drinks, including coffee. If more than 10 schools register, hospitality will include breakfast and lunch.
-
Concessions for students will be sold in the cafeteria.
-
Schools are free to bring their own food or (if time permits) leave campus for lunch.
