I hope this message finds you well. I am excited to share that Wakefield will be hosting its seventeenth annual Sweet Meet invitational on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Please take note that the deadline for entries is Saturday, January 25th by 6:00 PM. We will have JV and varsity divisions, with all nine NSAA events offered in both divisions, as numbers permit. The competition will follow a structured format, starting at 8:00 AM and concluding with awards around 4:00 PM.

Here’s a quick overview of the schedule:

8:00 AM: Round 1, Flight A (Humorous, Serious, Persuasive, OID, Duet); Extemp Check-in

8:15 AM: Extemp draw begins

9:15 AM: Round 1, Flight B (Extemp, Entertainment, Informative, Poetry, POI)

10:30 AM: Round 2, Flight A

10:45 AM: Extemp draw for Round 2

11:45 AM: Round 2, Flight B

1:00 PM: Flight A Finals

2:30 PM: Flight B Finals

4:00 PM: Awards in Main Gym

Judges:  Each school is to provide one judge for every SIX ENTRIES.  Each entry and additional uncovered entry will be $11.00.

Registration: We will be using SpeechWire.com for registration and tabulation.  

Fees:  $8.00 per entry—both group and individual.  There will be no refunds for drops.  Fees are due by the day of the tournament. Schools that withdraw from the tournament after the entry deadline will be responsible for the same fees.  Please make checks payable to the Wakefield High School.
