Dear Forensics Family:

The Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League and Northwood University would like to invite you to the 2023 M.I.S.L. Novice State Championship Tournament. The tournament will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, on Northwood University’s campus. Registration and awards ceremony will be held in Sloan Family Aftermarket Building Auditorium. The competition will be spread out between the Sloan Family Aftermarket Building and Jordan Hall. These buildings are not connected, so please plan accordingly for walking outdoors in winter weather.

The 2023 M.I.S.L Novice State Championship Tournament will offer all 11 individual events which include Impromptu, Extemporaneous, Persuasion, Informative, After Dinner Speaking, Rhetorical Criticism, Prose, Dramatic Interpretation, Programmed Oral Interpretation, Poetry, and Duo. Awards will be given to the top six (6) speakers in each individual event. We will recognize the top three (3) schools overall, the top three (3) speakers overall, and the top community college. Entries are due by Tuesday, February 13^th no later than 5:00pm. We greatly look forward to welcoming you to our campus and hosting this tournament!
